Loved the diatribe, especially the parallels drawn to talking about a herpes-fountain rabbi. I couldn’t have put it better myself, it lays the smack down so bad on these pseudo intellectuals and there post-hoc argument they fall back on.
CLEARLY this but-this-discussion -could-be-used-by-racist-rednecks-for-bad-things-so-we-just-shouldn’t-ever-talk-about-it gambit wasn’t their original argument. In reality, they eventually have to come up with justification for why they feel yucky and involuntarily shout out “racist!” when someone wants to have a frank discussion about Islam. The diatribe this week was AWESOME calling these jackasses out and showing why their argument is so absurd.
P.S. I love heath’s revealing of chemistry knowledge, pointing out the bent molecular form of the ClO2- on the website. It’s not linear tho :p.
Omg on the episode of The Walking Dead that aired last Sunday, Maggie tells Eugene about the story of Samson. And she totally calls out the window licker stupidity of Samson’s faux-riddle about his bee hive in the rotting lion carcass. Maggie straight up calls it ridiculous, just like Heath pointed out back on that Holy Babble segment.
Yaknow how when you first learn about something, that thing then appears somewhere else in life? The thing was always there, but until you know wtf it is, you never pay attention to it. Samson’s story and his retarded non-riddle is a great example of that for me.
The criticisms of Christianity are few and far between on TWD, but the few the writers include are poignant– one more reason it’s a sick fucking show. Kudos to Heath for totally pre-cog’ing it weeks ahead of time.
