Extras

To keep to a 30 minute format each week, we often have to bump or shorten segments that we liked.  This page is dedicated to all the funny shit that didn’t make it into the show.  Before you go clicking around here, though, I should warn you that some of the stuff didn’t make it because it was a little too raunchy.  And if you’ve listened to the show, you know that you’ve got to get pretty profane before you’ve crossed the line here.

Anyway, enjoy.

And yes, there’s more coming…

Why do atheist fight so hard against a being that does not exist and a book of fiction that man wrote thousands of years ago?

    • February 11, 2015 at 12:38 PM

I can’t tell if I should take this question seriously, or just make fun of you for asking it. I’ll go against my better judgement here and assume it was an honest question.

Atheists don’t find against god or the bible, they fight against the bat-shit crazy theocratic assholes that would try to use an imaginary being and a two thousand year old book to deny equal rights to others, to overturn democracy, to justify misogyny, to murder people who believe in the wrong space man. You’d have to be pretty adept at looking the other way not to see the harm that religion causes in this world. And I’d argue that you have to be a coward not to fight against it.

How many atheist insisted on this article be written in our constitution:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
[Extracted from The Constitution of the United States of America, Amendment I (1791).]

Atheists? My guess would be… none. Maybe 2? Not sure I get your point…

  7. Dill Weed
    February 12, 2015 at 8:36 AM

There is no point, just curiosity about the anti-religion campaign of the atheist movement in the world. A great deal of emphasis is placed on Article I of the constitution by atheist. I would have thought some of that group would have had a part in seeing it included in the constitution. I detect a lot of bitterness and hatred in the books written by atheist that I have read toward religious people. I am also curious about the Atheist Republic started by someone disappointed with Islam.

    • February 13, 2015 at 2:49 PM

I don’t believe there was anyone directly involved in the drafting of the Bill of Rights that was an atheist. Deism tended to be the pre-Darwinian theological designation of the scientifically educated.

I’ve never detected any bitterness or hatred toward religious people in any atheist book I’ve read (nor any atheist blog, Facebook post, etc.), so clearly we’re not reading the same stuff. Curious if you could name one of these books you’re referring to.

DIATRIBES: Volume One 50 Essays from a Godless Misanthrope
It begins with a man dealing with his doubts, and what I can understand he still has doubts and deals with it with the
ridicule of religion by pointing out the faults and inconsistent doctrines of the follower of religion and the inability to empirically prove the existence of a god.

Another book I have started reading is: Your God Is Too Small 50 essays of life, love and liberty without religion by The Citizens of the Atheist Republic. Regardless of the way the book tittle reads it is about someones journey from Islam to atheism.

  9. February 13, 2015 at 9:47 PM

Okay, so your argument rests on your amateur psychological analysis of the author rather than the content of the book? I have to admit that I’m not familiar with the second book, but if your description of it comes from the same orifice you pulled your description of the first from, I’m comfortable dismissng your thoughts on it.

Doubt in anything causes one to blind his or her eyes to all other alternatives but the one he or she wants to adopt to settle doubts. Doubt causes a change in attitudes, causes one to say and do things contrary to one;s original beliefs to calm the turmoil in the mind. Even to the use of expletive language to prove they have overcome their doubts. I am glad you are comfortable with the dismisal of my thoughts. You would have to in order to have peace of mind. I find thinking about things that are contrary to my belief causes me to become upset and I want to reach out and ridicule the things that causes me problems. Well, anyway I am just an amateur with opinions whether right or wrong and I am excerising my right of freedom of speech which I hope you want deny me that right by your dismisal. I want to thank you for your helping me to understand the atheist’s beliefs. By the way the deist believe of our founding men of our nation is still not settled in concrete. Depending on the historical author you read after one gets different opinions of their beliefs.. They can’t seem to make up their informed minds on that subject. Well, thanks for your input because I am doubter just like all who seek what is the truth.

Php_2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

      March 6, 2015 at 12:38 PM

(aka Marcus Murphy) Logic and reason control my mind, and I honestly have no problem with them being my ‘dictator’. Why would I? Why do you?

    • March 6, 2015 at 3:56 PM

“What controls the mind becomes dictator of the mind”

There’s a scary sounding tautology if I ever heard one. “That which controls the mind” and “dictator of the mind” are synonyms. Of course that which dictates to the mind is that which dictates to the mind. Not sure why anyone would need that spelled out for them.

  18. Weed
    March 6, 2015 at 1:33 PM

Well, now aint you something. You are the sum total product of everything you have read or heard whether right or wrong and your logic and reasoning comes from the books, lectures, and studies you have made and these dictate to your mind your so called original reason and logic.

  19. Dill Weed
    March 7, 2015 at 1:43 AM

Php 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
The dictator of the mind is a god. What ever occupies the mind is like a god taking over your thoughts. A person needs something to help them have a purpose for living. A few reject the creator God and replace Him with something else to make their life have meaning. In your book you stated that you rejected the Christian God and replaced him with a philosopy of I can’t prove the existence of the Creator God and you began a new direction of reason and logic. But you are not sure that you are correct. Your hope is that you are right. Now, I am not including scientific logic and reason about the physical universe: I am limiting this discussion to what is in our minds about god, any god. And what makes a god a god to human beings. Your book is filled with self and how you became the scating atheist and produced a podcast to vent your beliefs and to ask others to join you and give you money in the form of donations.

    • March 7, 2015 at 12:56 PM

Actually I never said any of that shit in my book. I’d encourage you to read it before discussing it. Nothing in it about how I “became” an atheist; nothing in it about why I started a podcast. Nothing in it about other people “following me”. Nothing about anybody giving me money.

And you don’t need to tell us that you’re not including reason and logic in your argument. That much is clear.

Dill Weed, when you can make any coherent sense, please feel free to comment, until then, shut the fuck up. Your religious psychobabble is annoying at best and painfully amusing at worst. 21. Dill Weed
    March 7, 2015 at 1:34 PM

How about that? Your true nature is coming out. You can’t stand it when someone challenges your stupid nonsense. You are like those preachers who write books for profit and ask people to give them donations so they can continue their ministries. Deception comes not only from religion but also from atheists like yourself. The way you communicate with someone is by gutter talk making you sound like a an dumb braying Jackass. INstead of putting your feces in a book put it in the toilet and flush.

  22. Dill Weed
    March 7, 2015 at 2:43 PM

I read your book and it was interlaced with statements about you and your progress to adopting atheist philosophy. It was also decorated with sewer words that belong in the toilet instead of a book. Some of my statements about donations were found on your web sight. And anyone who writes a book it is to make money otherwise why copywrite it.unless it is a release to find personal comfort in your own words and to get others to agree and become what you are. In that case just give it away without any profit. I helped you when I bought the kindle production. It was an interesting book with some true to life statements about yourself and occasionaly some truth about what makes an atheist an atheist. Maybe you need to re-read your own book to remember what you wrote. Be your own critic. You might be surprised about how much of self revelation is in the book. That was what I was looking for not the other stuff.

    • March 7, 2015 at 4:12 PM

So your response here boils down to:

“I didn’t pay attention to what was written or what point was trying to be conveyed, I was looking for XYZ and (lo and behold) I found XYZ.”

Thanks for supporting my efforts to drag more people kicking and screaming from Jesus so that they can burn in hell forever. The souls of everyone I convert to atheism with your four bucks are on your hands.

Hate speech is speech that offends, threatens, or insults groups, based on race, color, religion, national origin, disability, or other traits. Should hate speech be discouraged? The answer is easy—of course!

  32. Dill Weed

Thought maybe you would give a more intelligence reply instead of a hate diatribe. Since according to you god does not exist how can he frown on anything. So prove god frowns on masturbation. Be careful you might prove you believe in the existence of god.

Atheism is only a cover for the frustration of an unsuccessful religious search.
